Recipalooza: Home Made Granola

We make and eat this granola on a regular basis here at the home front. We recently tried these bars and LOVED them as well! Super easy and super yummy!

The Recipe: Granola

* Note* this can be halved as I make a  large batch for our family. This recipe makes enough for 5 of us to have a bowl for breakfast and still fill up a gallon bag for later.*

6 cups Oatmeal
1 cup honey
1 stick butter
2 hand fulls flax seed ( I use dark and golden, one of each)
1 cup slivered almonds (optional)
2-4 hand fulls of raisins, depending on taste (optional)
1 1/2 c. chopped up dates (optional)
Dried cranberries to taste (optional)
Chocolate chips to taste (optional)
*Note* If adding things such as chocolate chips or M&M's do so AFTER baking and cooling or you will just end up with a melted mess.
Melt butter and honey in pan on low heat.

Remove from heat and add oatmeal and flax seed.

Add all of the other desired ingredients and mix well.

Grease or spray two cookie sheets, VERY important step!
Spread granola in an even layer on pans.

Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

Let cool and harden. Enjoy!
